The teeter-totter—or teeter, for short—is similar to a child's teeter-totter. It consists of a plank, approximately 12 feet long and 9 to 12 inches wide, supported in the middle by a sturdy base that pivots. For safety reasons, the dog must touch the contacts (the areas at either end of the teeter that are painted in a different color), both on the way up (in USDAA only) and on the way down.
